We normally suggest using the second section of a 5 or 6 section boom as the point to rest in the Boom-Buddy  cradle. To prevent damaging the boom, it's not clamped into the cradle.

The boom can be fitted into the Boom-Buddy in seconds without the need to re-rig.

Any lighting stand with a 5/8" spigot can be used or a conventional mic stand.

Supplied with the Boom-Buddy is a fabric Buddy-Bag which slips over the end of the boom.

This can take a camera battery, water bottle or other weight to act as a counter balance if you are using the  boom  at long extension.

By using a lighting stand, you can position your microphone at greater heights than with a conventional  mic. stand/boom.


No more aching arms, the Boom-Swinger takes the weight of the mic boom whilst still allowing the operator to  move in and out of the action and rotate the mic even whilst using the mixer.

 By using another mic boom as the support, the Boom-Swinger is an invaluable aid for those long interviews and  drama sequences.

 Designed for use with booms of 19mm diameter or more at the point of pivot. The main boom is supported  between two precision ground nitrile spheres which rotate as the boom is twisted.


Here is a very simple device that makes life a little easier on those days when you'd rather not be doing two things at once. It's called the Boom Boy.

It will hold any standard size boompole for hours without complaining. Your boompole is protected from scratches with the soft plastic coating while also being lightweight and small enough not to be a hassle to pack in your kit. The stainless steel post will mount to any "C" stand head or Mafer grip commonly found with most crews. The best thing is it doesn't eat much and won't talk back.


The RAINMAN softens the impact of rain drops falling onto the boom microphone.

Protects the microphone:
The RAINMAN channels rain away from the microphone, along the outside of the "zeppelin" style windscreen.

How does it sound?
Like it's not even there. The RAINMAN is more acoustically transparent than traditional "furry" windshield covers

The RAINMAN is made of a soft, lightweight batting that does not absorb water or mat up when wet. Instead, the rain drops simply slow down as they flow through and are channeled out the front. The exterior is net material with sturdy stitching and a Velcro closure. The RAINMAN easily slides onto most windscreens, and is secured with Velcro.

The RAINMAN goes on and off quickly and easily. To install the RAINMAN, simply slide it on with the open end at the front of the microphone then close the Velcro slot.

In heavier rain, the RAINMAN may eventually take on water faster than it can channel it through. In this case, it may be a good idea to occasionally remove the RAINMAN and shake or wring the water out. With a little experience you will get a feel for when and how often this should be done. The RAINMAN’s effectiveness has been proven in actual production environments.

It is recommended that the RAINMAN be used without a furry wind cover. However, for added wind protection, a stretchy “sock” type cover may be used under the RAINMAN.
